Position Overview:
The Grazing Program Coordinator is responsible for communications, planning, and administration of the MNL grazing program. The Grazing Coordinator will work with both the MNL grazing team and the vegetation management supervisor to ensure grazing is completed to specification. This entails creating and revising work schedules, managing subcontractors, verifying work completion, and continually communicating with grazing customers. Other responsibilities include marketing and outreach for MNL's grazing program, bidding on grazing projects, and assisting the grazing team with various administrative tasks as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Vet potential grazing subcontractors and collaborators, execute contracts and invoicing, and oversee on-site work to ensure customer and MNL expectations are met
- Conduct field verification checks on current projects, and site visits for prospective projects
- Maintain regular communication with grazing customers, subcontractors, and other collaborators, including weekly calls and meetings during business hours and occasional after-hours communications as needed
- Provide work verification as required by customers throughout the grazing season and at year end, including uploading pictures and job sheets, and generating reports and summaries
- Represent MNL grazing to prospective customers and at relevant conferences, events, and tours
- Participate in speaking engagements and promotional videos to support and promote MNL grazing services and solar grazing in general
- Increase MNL grazing outreach through proactive participation in ASGA, MNSEIA, LGU groups, and other agricultural and agrivoltaics organizations
- Create bids and proposals for solar and conservation grazing projects, and subcontract goat grazing upon request
- Develop grazing-related professional services work such as agrivoltaics or grazing implementation plans
- Assist grazing team with various administrative tasks as needed, including recording animal statistics, analyzing grazing impact, and producing department financials and expense tracking
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma required, college degree preferred
- Valid drivers license
- Must be willing and able to obtain DOT Health card
- Excellent communication skills
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Excellent time management skills
- Demonstrate accountability and honesty with supervisors, clients, and contractors
- Basic livestock knowledge is preferred
Physical Requirements:
- This job is primarily office-based with prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. There will also be a significant field component conducting site visits, requiring frequent walking or standing on rough terrain.
- Flexible work hours are expected for this position, including some evening and weekend work depending on the season and projects. Availability is required during standard business hours of Monday - Friday 8 am - 5 pm; during the grazing season of April through October evening and weekend availability is expected to deal with urgent site issues.
- Frequent travel to project sites and to meet with clients and contractors is required, including occasional out of state travel and occasional overnight travel.
