Position Overview:

MNL is a full-service ecological restoration company with a mission to Heal the Earth. We provide decades of experience, knowledge, industry leadership and a variety of services and products. Our services range from backyard native seeding to large-scale restoration, bioengineering, and everything in between.

MNL Products division produces 90+ varieties of premium native seed species between three production sites across MN. A position as an Ecological Field Technician will provide hands-on experience in the production of native plant and seed products and gaining native and non-native plant identification skills, while working in an outdoor setting.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Performs a variety of tasks needed to produce seed and plant materials, which include but are not limited to:

• IPM, weed management using a variety of tools ranging handheld tools to 85 horsepower tractors.
• Pulling and hoeing of weeds in production fields.
• Harvesting of seed, by hand and or mechanically.
• Assist with transplanting of small native seedlings.
• Assist with prescribed fire
• Assist with farm machinery and seed handling.
• Assist in operating seed cleaning equipment.
• Be accountable for your time and accurately record your activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Experience performing physical labor jobs.
• Experience in agriculture, horticulture, environmental science, natural resources, or other related trades.
• Ability to follow direction, work individually and work within a team.
• Ability to maintain a regular work schedule.
• Demonstrated success with living the company's values of passion for the mission, positivity, craftsmanship, grit, and innovation.
• Obtain Commercial Pesticide Applicators License Minnesota Category A and J

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, reach, and move as needed.
• Prolonged periods of time standing.
• Must be able to work outdoors performing physical work for prolonged periods of time in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat, rain, cold and snow.
